Overview
The Template Marketplace is your one-stop destination for discovering professional clinical note templates. Whether you're looking for specialty-specific templates or general-purpose note formats, the marketplace offers a curated collection of templates designed by clinical experts.
Accessing the Template Marketplace
There are multiple ways to access the Template Marketplace:
Quick Access from Encounter Settings
Click the settings icon next to the "Begin encounter" button
Look for the teal shopping bag icon next to "Template:"
Click the icon to open the Template Marketplace
From the Settings Menu (Cog Icon)
Click the gear icon in the top-right corner of the screen
Select "Marketplace" from the dropdown menu
The Template Marketplace will open in a full-screen modal
From the Settings Page
Navigate to Settings > Templates
Click the "Browse Marketplace" button
Explore available templates
Browsing Templates
Search
Use the search bar at the top of the marketplace to find templates by:
- Template name
- Description keywords
- Specialty terms
Filter Options
The marketplace provides several filters to help you find the right template:
By Specialty
- Filter templates by medical specialty (Cardiology, Dermatology, Family Medicine, etc.)
- Select a specialty from the left sidebar to see relevant templates
By Category
- SOAP Notes
- History & Physical
- Progress Notes
- Consultation Notes
- Procedure Notes
- And more...
By EHR System
- All Templates (EHR-agnostic)
- Veradigm-optimized
- TouchWorks-optimized
Featured Templates
- Toggle "Featured Only" to see staff-picked, high-quality templates
Template Cards
Each template card displays:
- Template Name - The name of the template
- Specialty - Which medical specialty it's designed for
- Description - What the template includes and its use case
- Install Count - How many users have installed this template
- Author - Who created the template
- Install Button - One-click installation
Installing Templates
To Your Personal Library
Browse or search for a template you want
Click the "Install" button on the template card
The template is instantly added to your personal template library
The button changes to "Installed" to confirm
What Happens After Installation
The template appears in your "My Templates" section in the template picker
You can immediately use it for your next encounter
The template can be customized after installation (it's your copy!)
Checking Installation Status
Templates show different button states:
- Install - Template not yet in your library
- Reinstall - Template was previously installed (you can re-download it)
- Install New Version - A newer version exists in the marketplace
Managing Installed Templates
Using Installed Templates
Start a new encounter
Open the template picker (click the Template dropdown)
Find your installed template under "My Templates"
Select it and begin your encounter
Editing Installed Templates
Once installed, templates are yours to customize:
1. Go to Settings > Templates
2. Find the installed template in your list
3. Click to edit the instructions or example note
4. Save your changes
Uninstalling Templates
If you no longer need a template:
1. Go to Settings > Templates
2. Find the template you want to remove
3. Click the delete icon to remove it from your library

Try before you commit: Read the full description and preview before installing
Customize after installing: Make the template your own by adjusting sections
Check for updates: Periodically browse the marketplace for new templates in your specialty
Use the right specialty filter: Templates are optimized for specific specialties

Q: Are marketplace templates free?
A: Yes! All templates in the marketplace are included with your Ambient Scribe subscription.
Q: Can I edit a marketplace template after installing it?
A: Absolutely! Once installed, the template is your copy to customize however you like.
Q: Will my customizations be lost if I update a template?
A: When you update to a newer version, it will create a new copy. Your customized version remains untouched.
Q: How often are new templates added?
A: Our team continuously adds new templates based on user feedback and clinical needs.
Q: Can I suggest a new template?
